CSR and sustainability workshop

The MNEmerge and Global Value projects organised a Professional Development Workshop MNEs’ Corporate Social Responsibility as Complementary to National Development at the Academy of Management Conference in Anaheim, the USA, on the 6th of August 2016. Both projects are funded by the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme and deal with the impact of MNEs in sustainable development in the global economy.

The workshop was chaired by Professor Juha Väätänen from the Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland and speakers included André Martinuzzi, Norma Schönherr and Florian Findler from WU Vienna, Austria; Pervez Ghauri from the University of Birmingham, UK; George Essegbey from the Science and Technology Policy Research Institute, Ghana; Suraksha Gupta from the University of Kent, UK; and Eduardo Urias and Rushva Parihar from UNU-MERIT, the Netherlands. The workshop gathered an audience of over 30 participants and facilitated lively discussions on the role of MNEs in sustainable socioeconomic development in developing countries.
